Dozens of families attended AMBS' annual Back to the Academy Day on Wednesday September 7th.

During the opening parent convocation, in addition to remarks by school principal, Dr. Thomas Altonjy, parents were introduced to or reacquainted with the parish leadership, the school advisory board, and the specialist teachers.  Attendees also had the opportunity to receive information on extra-curricular activities provided by TGA Premier Golf and Tennis Lessons, Musical Collaborations, which will provide after school instrumental lessons, FACTS Tuition management, the Home Academy Partnership (HAP), the main office, and the school nurse.

While parents and families of children in the elementary grades were invited to join their children and visit their new classrooms, the parents of children in the Aquinas school had the opportunity to hear remarks by the four core Aquinas school teachers on the curriculum and expectations for the new school year.

Following the presentations, parents, children, faculty and staff attended the opening mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church where the new 6th graders were welcomed into their Aquinas houses and the new House Leaders were officially inducted.

After the mass, the children returned to their classrooms and were treated to a pizza lunch provided by the estate of the late Msgr Carl Hinricsen who was the former pastor at MBS.
