Blessings are for our furriest best friends too! On October 4th, the Pre-K 4 class, and the 5th grade students hosted an after school ‘pet blessing’ led by Father Jon to honor patron saint of animals, Saint Francis of Assisi. St. Francis saw animals as his brother and sisters because they are God’s creatures, just as people are. Both classes spearheaded the push to help raise funds, awareness and donations to benefit animals in the Bergen County Protect and Rescue Shelter, a no kill shelter founded by Bergen County's Animal Control Agency in 2012 in Cliffside Park. The students at AMBS truly learned that being kind to all God’s creatures is one of the fundamental tenets of their faith.
