AMBS students, from the prep through eighth grade, participated in the 2015 Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 22nd. Students prepared for this event beginning at the start of the school year, and showed great enthusiasm in showcasing their talent. Both the afternoon and evening performances were well attended by friends and family!
The theme was “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” culminating in a robust performance of this classic song. The concert began with the traditional Nativity, represented by the eighth grade and narrated by the seventh grade. The early childhood classes joined in as special guests for “The Clucking Song,” and representatives from each grade level helped to tell the story of the twelve days following Christmas. The fifth grade narrated, explaining the biblical symbolism of each day, and all grades sang throughout. Some musical highlights included “We Three Kings,” “Lullaby,” and “Behold That Star.”
During the second half of the program, Aquinas Middle School students sang two secular pieces, “Various Themes on Fa-la-la” and “Grown-Up Christmas List.” The AMBS choir, consisting of students in grades three through eight, sang two selections, “Colors of Christmas” and “Believe” from The Polar Express. At the conclusion of the concert, all grades bid farewell to the audience with a joyful “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
