Grade 2: Miss Dragonetti

Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Story for Week of 11/3- A Tall Tale
Story for Week of 11/10 - One Grain of Rice

Spelling and vocabulary words for homework are words that are seen in our weekly stories that will be practiced in class through grammar, phonics, and other activities. Their spelling and vocabulary list is always pasted into their notebooks for reference for the week. Homework for spelling and vocabulary will be given Monday through Thursday. As all homework, this is due for the following day unless otherwise noted. Vocabulary and spelling words are attached in each student's vocabulary notebook and spelling notebook. Our reading/comprehension tests are also on Fridays. This is based on the story we read in our Treasure's textbook during the week in class. Students have the opportunity to bring home their textbooks Thursdays to review the story at home, and must return the book on Fridays.

Beginning Monday, 10/7, we will begin using Spelling City for spelling as well as IXL for math. These are great additional resources to use to help reinforce skills, and will be used in addition to weekly homework, or sometimes in place of, depending on the lesson. The assignments for both IXL and Spelling City will always be noted in the student's homework pad.
