Recognizing the need to help middle level students jump-start their quest toward higher education, the National Junior Honor Society offers the annual NJHS Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA). The award recognizes 500 exceptional NJHS students with $500, to be placed in a college savings account program-managed by Ascensus as part of the New Mexico Education Trust Board’s 529 college savings plan: The Education Plan.

AMBS collected canned soup for Mercy House, a center that supports those in need.
All inducted members are expected to attend chapter meetings.
All inducted members are asked to create an account on the National Junior Honor Society website
CREATE AN ACCOUNT.
All inducted members are required to participate in at least one chapter service project per year.
All inducted members are required to complete 10 individual hours of community service.
Invitations to apply is bestowed upon deserving students and determined by the Faculty Council. Candidates are selected based on the 5 pillars of the National Junior Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.
Invitations are extended to 6th and 7th graders after 2nd Trimester grades have been submitted. The candidate must have been enrolled for one Trimester to be eligible for selection. Candidates for invitation shall have a minimum cumulative grade of 92. Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment and cumulative grade standards, candidates shall then be considered based on the 5 pillars of the National Junior Honor Society.
