The Spanish Department of the Academy of the Most Blessed Sacrament received a generous donation from an anonymous benefactor to purchase Senderos by Vista Higher Learning. It is a digital platform integrated with on-line student textbooks.
The 7th and 8th grade students at the Academy will benefit from this donation.
The students will hear a multitude of accents – Spanish and Latin American- in authentic listening exercises; they will verbally record responses to recorded native speakers’ questions; the grammar exercises, with auto-grading, provide immediate feedback at home; there is also an emphasis of reading and hearing authentic news texts in Spanish; and there are interesting writing exercises based on Spanish topics.
Depending on the high school or college our students attend, they may encounter an on-line Spanish course. Therefore, the Academy would like the students to be prepared regarding the technical aspects, so that they may just focus on learning Spanish.
Pictured with representatives of the 7th and 8th grade classes are Mrs. Manzo (Principal), Father John Job (Pastor) and Mrs. Vera Olinski (AMBS Spanish Instructor). They are holding a sign expressing their prayerful gratitude to the benefactor who made this wonderful opportunity possible.
