In nominating eighth grader Patricia M. for December’s Student
Spotlight, AMBS Middle School Science teacher, Mr. Kevin Quintilian cited her “positive behavior, attitude, and maturity, coupled with the fact that she is persistent, dedicated, and motivated to excel in all that she does.”
Given all those qualities, it is, perhaps, not surprising that Patricia is the Head of Xavier House for the Aquinas Middle School, and an active participant in everything that is happening at AMBS.
For example, she has been a member of the AMBS girls basketball team, and, prior to the pandemic, “was an altar server once or twice a month”. She would certainly be continuing that ministry now if not for the current health restrictions. She has also been active in the school’s campus ministry activities. “During our fundraisers here at school, I always volunteer to work one of the stations. I try to participate as much as a I can.”
Her favorite school subject is social studies; away from school, she enjoys
dancing, swimming, basketball “and I love writing in my journal”.
While the pandemic has limited some of the things she was looking forward to in eighth grade, it hasn’t dampened her enthusiasm or school spirit. “The best part about AMBS is that they make you feel like a family,” she says. “Everybody is always so kind and loving.”
On behalf of both the parish and school communities, congratulations to
Patricia M., December’s Student Spotlight!
