¡Hola! I am looking forward to exploring Spanish with the Pre-K through 8th grade students again this year. God willing, students will improve in speaking, reading and listening comprehension, and writing skills, all while having fun. I especially look forward to the 7th and 8th grade students advancing in their abilities through preparing for the *National Spanish Exam next spring.
*The National Spanish Exam is a motivational contest to recognize student achievement in the study of Spanish, all with promoting language proficiency.
My background includes extensive foreign language and teaching experience. I started learning Spanish in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; Lëtzebuergesch, French, and Italian in Luxembourg; and dabbled with Russian in the former Soviet Union. Additionally, I studied Italian at the University of Florence and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a major in Italian and concentration in French.
Last year, by God’s grace, I had the honor of teaching the Pre-K through 8th grade students Spanish at AMBS. Previously, I have taught English in Kyrgyzstan; Italian, Spanish, and Latin through a classical co-op.; and Italian at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
